The structure of the class for this age group is similar to the Crotchet class but obviously geared to this age group. More notes are introduced and also beating time to music.

Orchestral instruments are shown to the children. We discuss whether you blow, pluck or hammer the instruments and then if the children wish they may try and play them.

We pretend we're the Conductor of Hedgerows Orchestra and this helps the children to understand the different tempos of music and expands their understand of the varieties of instruments.

But most important we still have dance, games and instruments.
